Description All bound in one volume. * All reports to Ansco, Binghamton NY. First report deals with examination of Patents of: Hutchings et al, Robertson, Glover, Goddard, Glover, Goddard, Schmid various dated 1903-1913. Date stamped by Ansco March 11, 1915. 94 copies of patent drawings, 7 folding, Specification sheets for each from 1 page to 5 pages, some marked and annotated in pen/pencil. Patents shown dating from 1856 to 1913. "If on the contrary, there have been prior adapters embodying the same general principles of construction so that Hutchings & Robertson can be made to occupy a position of mere improvers, then the court will not afford them the privilege of the doctrine of mechanical equivalents..." 5 pages folded lengthwise. Signed by Phillips Abbott on the last page. Carbon of Ansco's response requesting that Phillips Abbott do further research into the possible infringements, as the research dept has expended a great deal of effort on the project. Typed letter signed from Abbott to Ansco in re his delay in providing a "supplemental opinion." Signed by Abbott 20 page report signed which concludes "I advise that you adopt the Bormann Adapter No. 3 but substitute for the automatic locking device shown in it, the non-automatic locking device of Bormann Adapter No. 1. This will give you presumably the cheapest and Handsomest form of the three, will free you from any probability of litigation and will preclude any claim of unfair incroachment by any competitor." Signed by Abbott Typed fair copy of Patent number 728,719 amendment dated 1902 with underlining, bracketing in red pencil . 18 page typed copy with annotations underlining etc of Patent number 988,872 Joseph Goddard. "Changes in specifications". Many copies of Patent drawings and specifications with annotations by Abbott bound into appropriate sections . Carbon copy of a letter from Ansco to Phillips Abbott dated May 22, 1915. indicating that they were limited to "Adapter No. 3" because of English Patents. 5 page report from Phillips Abbott in re the English Patents. Includes copies of the applicable English Patents. A rich source for the researcher in re Patent law, and Camera development for the Amateur photographer.
